Among the districts, Adilabad has 35.53 per cent forest cover in proportion to its geographical area, the report said. Followed by Khammam with 33.76 per cent, and Warangal with 22.99 per cent. The worst performing districts were Nalgonda with 2.91 per cent, Medak with 7.62 per cent and Hyderabad with 8.61 per cent.

Recorded Forest Area (RFA) in the State is 26,904 sq km of which 20,353 sq km is Reserved Forest, 5,939 sq km is Protected Forest and 612 sq km is Unclassed Forests.
