During the French Revolution, representatives of the third estate organized a revolutionary assembly known as the National Assembly.
On 21st June, 1789 the National Assembly convened a meeting in the Church of Saint Louis where most of the people belonging to clergy class were present.
The meeting was supposed to be held in a tennis court but stopped by the king's officials.
