In which layer of the epidermis do the nucleus and other organelles disintegrate and the cells die?

Many layers or keratinized, dead epithelial cells that are flattened and nonucleated. (Layer of epidermis) Between stratum corneum and stratum granulosum on sores and palms. Cells appear clear; nuclei; organelles, and cell membranes are no longer visible.
