Sugarcane is cultivated mostly in the Deccan regions.
This is because the Deccan region is completely filled up with Black Soil .
Black soil is the best suited soil for growing cotton.
The black soil is particularly fertile and has a moisture retentive nature.
It is perfect for cotton and sugarcane.
That area is also called the Sugarcane belt.
