It lies in the second quadrant.

(-3,7) can be represented as (x,y)

So, x = -3, y = 7

If( x > 0) it lies in the first or the fourth quadrant.

If(y>0) it lies in the first or second quadrant.

Here (x<0) so it lies in 2nd or 3rd quadrant

(y>0) so it lies in 1st or 2nd quadrant

Since 2nd quadrant is common to both, we can say it lies in 2nd quadrant

You can make it easier, plot the two numbers on a graph

Answer:

as x axis is positive, it will be in 1st or 4th quadrant

as y axis is negative, it will be in 3rd or 4th quadrant

common from both is 4th quardrant

so the answer is fourth quadrant
