the x axis is the abscissa which is 1
The y axis is the ordinate which is -4

Which means it can be written as (1,–4)

Now let's see the quadrants

1 quadrant is (+,+)
2 quadrant (–,+)
3 quadrant (–,–)
4 quadrant (+,–)

Now we can see that it lies in the fourth quadrant because it has plus sign first and minus sign second.

Hope it helps

Heyaa..

Here we go..

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

@ There are four quadrants.

# Ist Quadrant - ( +, + )

# IInd Quadrant - ( -, + )

# IIIrd Quadrant - ( -, - )

# IVth Quadrant - ( +, - )

@ Abscissa is the point on x - axis

@ Ordinate is the point on y - axis

So.. the coordinate is ( 1, -4 ) --> ( +, - )

Therefore - ANSWER : FOURTH QUADRANT
