Given : points (-1, 3) , (3, -1) and (-4, -5)

To Find : In which quadrants do each the point lie

Solution:

point will be represented as  (x , y)

1st Quadrant    x   +ve  and  y is  + ve

2nd  Quadrant    x  -ve  and  y is  + ve

3rd Quadrant     x  -ve  and  y is  - ve

4th Quadrant    x   +ve  and  y is  - ve

(-1, 3)   x  -ve  and  y is  + ve   Hence 2nd  Quadrant

(3, -1)   x   +ve  and  y is  - ve Hence  4th Quadrant

(-4, -5)   x  -ve  and  y is  - ve Hence  3rd Quadrant

HELLO DEAR,

GIVEN:- In which quadrants do each the point(-1, 3) , (3, -1) and (-4, -5) lie respectively .

SOLUTION:-

There are four quadrants on the Cartesian graph.

1st quadrant - It's lies between positive x-axis and positive y - axis.

We can represent it as (+,+).

2nd quadrant- It's lies between negative x-axis and positive y - axis.

We can represent it as (-,+).

3rd quadrant- It's lies between negative x-axis and negative y - axis.

We can represent it as (-,-).

4th quadrant- It's lies between positive x-axis and negative y - axis.

We can represent it as (+,-).

So, (-1 , 3 ) is lie in the 2nd quadrant (- , + ).

(-4 , -5 ) is lie in the 3rd quadrant (-,- ).

And (3 , -1 ) is lie in the 4th quadrant(+ , - ).

THANKS.
