Given:

30% w/w of hcl and 90% w/w hcl should be mixed to get 55% w/w hcl

To find:

In which ratio the mixture is mixed to get the resultant mixture

Solution:

We have given the two mixtures, with the given concentration of the HCL in the mixture as 30% of HCl in the first mixture and 90% HCl content in the second

And after mixing the above two mixture we get the resultant mixture as the 55% of the HCL content

So we will get the ratio by the mixture allegation method:

30                         90

              55

35                         25

The simplest form of the obtained fraction 35/25 is 7/5

So the mixture must be mixed in the ratio 7:5

In 7:5 the mixture is mixed to get the resultant mixture
