In spring season the vessels of the angiosperms is the largest because spring season is the favourable season for the cambium activity . It becomes active in summer season whereas it becomes inactive during winter season, therefore in winter seasons the vessels are smaller in size. This is how the formation of annual ring in trees takes place . Two rings are formed in a year in spring and winter season.
