JHARKHAND is affected with severe land gradation due to mining. It is rich in many mineral resources

Coal Iron Ores, deposits of gold.Bauxite Mica ,Graphite Uranium & other Radio-active Minerals Decorative and Ornamental stones.

The availability of resources has acted as a curse to this state

It has caused Industrial Pollution (whether it be water or air) to an extent people find it difficult to live there.

People who are indulged in these activities don't even have an idea of its consequences. They cut trees like anything resulting in loss of biodiversity in the area.

It has caused Great deal of soil pollution.

Due to mining deep in earth it has resulted in formation of Sinkholes and land subsiding has become common.

Indeed the natural wealth of this area contrasts with the poverty of people in this area. The abundance of cheap labour has even worked as a cause of attraction of industries for mining resulting in above stated problems.
