In high regions, there is less atmospheric pressure
And the temperature is cold due to the condition that evaporation causes cooling and it is close to the earth's atmosphere
Basically it will cause a balance to that of which is in the plains
and the state of water over there is clearly seasonal depending on how far away it is from the Sun
So, in a nutshell, the state of water depends on how we use it, weather, humidity (because the humidity is a factor for evaporation) and evaporation affects the state of water in that region and that cannot be predicted due to the butterfly effect from the chaos theory!
