Deng Xiaoping was praised by Mao Zedong for his organizational abilities, but he fell out of the admi-ration in the 1960s due to the Cultural Revolution. It was after the death of Mao in the year 1977, that Deng Xiaoping made a political comeback. He minimized Mao’s legacy, crushed his enemies and banned “unofficial” institutions. Following are the economic reforms made by him:
1. He brought some reforms in the agricultural and industrial sector of the economy. His policy includ-ed the initiation of organized, centralized control of the macro-economy by technically able administra-tors.
2. Deng supported the legacy of Mao to an extent that he emphasized the primacy of agrarian output and prompted a meaningful decentralization of choice making in the agrarian economy organizations and individual farmer families
