The main support from United States government to the Native Americans, was by way of Federal benefits and grants.

Native Americans were accommodated in reservations, exclusively carved out for them, where they could set up their own agricultural farms or other legal business, allowed by the US government.

Though initially these disbursements were not conducted in a structured manner, gradually the government introduced a monitoring system to ensure the money was used for the right purpose, in an ethical way.

But in most cases, the sudden riches saw a majority of Native Americans take to a life of alcoholism and crime, which the government is trying to tackle now.
