University Education Commission or Radhakrishnan Commission was formed in 6thDecember, 1948 under the chairmanship of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the renowned educationist of India who later became the President of this country.

This commission chalked out the functions of the universities, course materials of different streams and examination procedures in universities.

It submitted its final report to the government in August 1949.
