On 14 April 1975, a general voting was held on a single political question, in which it was decided that Sikkim will be part of India. It joined India as 22nd State on 26th of April 1975. 20 days later, India officially accepted this state to be part of it and Lhendup Dorji became Chief Minister of Sikkim. There was a contact between ancient Hindus and Tibetans. The total number of kings in Sikkim were twelve. Now it is first organic state of our country.
