Dear Student,

The given compound AgBr contains halogen element bromine which quite reactive in nature and dissolves only in base solvent with good solubility rate as AgBr contains metallic component which dissolves only on boiling due to its metalic characteristics. Additionally AgBr is less soluble in NaBr and HBr due to presence of same halo element bromine. By Le Chatelier's principle, the presenece of same ion will induce equilibrium stress hence the dissociation of AgBr decreases in solubility. For water which is polar in nature while AgBr is non-polar hence the three options are not considered.

On reaction ammonium hydroxide the silver metal gets softens further on boiling, the reaction scheme is,

AgBR + NH4OH →Ag(NH3)2Br + H2O

Hence the answer is Option (B) 10-3 NH4OH
