Explanation:

BECAUSE AS TWO SURFACES RUB TOGETHER AGAINST EACH OTHER BECAUSE OF FRICTION HEAT IS PRODUCED AND AS THE CARPET IS A GOOD ABSORBER OF HEAT IT FEELS WARM.

TILES GET COOL QUICKER AND DON'T ABSORB HEAT IT FEELS COOL.

Answer:

\implies When you touch the carpet, it will not remove heat from your feet, as a result, it feels warmer.

\implies Conversely, tile or metal is able to remove heat from your foot very easily, and so it feels colder.

\implies In colder climates they help keep the interior of the home warm.

\implies That is why, carpeting has been a favorite choice for years.
