Answer:If one of the slits in Young's double slit experiment is covered with cellophane paper which absorbs a fraction of the intensity of light from the slit then the intensity (and hence the amplitude) of the light from the covered slit will decrease resulting in a difference in the intensities of the two virtual sources. Hence bright fringes will become less bright and dark fringes will not be completely dark.
