In Young's double slit experiment, two slits are 1mm apart and the screen is
placed Im away from the slits. Calculate the fringe width when light of wavelength
500 nm is used.

Given:

D =  1m = 1000mm

d = 1mm

λ = 500nm

To find:

The fringe width when light of wavelength  500 nm is used.

Solution:

β = λ ×\frac{D}{d}

β = 500 × 1000

β = 5 × 10⁵mm
