In youngs double slit experiment the nth red bright band coincides with (n+1)^th blue bright band. If the wavelength of red and blue lights are 7500A and 5000A, the value of 'n' is.

Answer:

(b)2 is the correct option

Explanation:

If λ₁ and λ₂ are the wavelengths of two lights and n₁ and n₂ are the band. if these 2 coincides then n₁λ₁ = n₂λ₂

Here, λ₁ = 7500 A ; λ₂ = 5000 A ; n₁ = n ; n₂ = n+1

Hence, from the formula,

n (7500) = (n+1)(5000)

=> 3n = 2n+ 2

=> n = 2

Hope it helps
