(This lecture is for our domestic help's son, who does not take interest in studies.)

A great man once said, "The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet." Do you agree with this statement? Well, that man was a world famous philosopher. His name was Aristotle and he definitely knew what he was saying.

Of course it is difficult to study. Who would like to study and get bored when one can go out and play or watch television, or even sleep? But the problem is that you cannot keep playing, watching TV or sleeping all through life.

Right now your parents are working hard and taking care of you. But when they grow old, they will not be able to work. Who will support you then? Who will give you the money to buy food, or even pay for your cable connection?

You yourself will have to handle all those responsibilities. You are smart and will get a job easily, but will that job pay you enough? Would you want to work hard all day, only to realise that you have no money left to go watch a movie in the theatre? Or would you like a well paying job that will help you save more and even let you fulfill your desires?

The only thing that can make your dreams come true is education. If you are educated, you will get better jobs. If you are uneducated, you will not be able to rise beyond the level of a peon.

The choice is completely yours. It is your life afterall, and you have the right to decide what you want to do with your life - use education as a tool to build the future and taste success or ignore education and spend your life struggling.
