Further to your instructions regarding utility of vacant land within our school boundary walls; indeed it has become dangerous due to wild plants and breeding place for insects, lizards and even chameleons. Therefore, your idea to utilize it in the best interest of students is commendable.
As suggested, I have not only discussed this matter with senior and lower secondary students, but had floated a suggestion form among them, asking for their ideas to utilize it without putting financial burden on the school. Most students have responded to the negative with regards to converting it into a quiet garden; since, during the 20 minutes of break-time, primarily most students form columns and buy snacks at the cafeteria. Then, students want to enjoy the remaining time through different games and leisure activities; which includes tag, king, throw and catch, or even gossiping. Therefore, a quiet garden may be suitable for a university, but not our school.
The suggestions made by students include basket ball area, swimming pool, study area for students, chairs and tables around cafeteria ; and even a bookstall. These areas are missing in our school and can develop a healthy leisure time, while promoting our school as one of the top schools in this area.
Though students are excited and prepared to assist in the construction of any of the above amenities; but I suggest that such work should be left to professionals. However, I asked them if they can convince their parents for contributing towards the financial cost of such a facility, and that I can suggest to the school to bear 25% of total cost. They have fully consented to it, as you can observe in the attached forms.
I personally think that we should have a study room to be utilized a fortnight before our semester assessments. It can be furnished with books and stationery contributed by students, and supervised by one of our senior staff members. It will indeed give a place to exchange ideas and concepts, resulting in enhancing grades. As for sports areas, we have them, though not of high standards, but useful enough for school students.

As suggested, I have not only discussed this matter with the students , but had floated suggestions from among them, asking for their ideas to utilize the land . Less number of students agreed with the idea of a quiet garden as they will feel relaxed after the busy school routine.
But some of the students needed something different. They suggested that the unused area can be converted into a basketball court, badminton court or a switch pool. However, the most favoured idea was to turn this piece of land into a flowers and herbs garden which can be used by the students to study Botany. Moreover, it will make the environment of school more peaceful.
I personally also think that we should turn this land into a flowers and herbs garden. The benefits would me immense as the students will develop a sense of responsibility and will connect with nature.
