Let the ammunition used by 1 soldier in 1 day be x.
Camp strength=64 soldiers (given)
Camp strength after 2 days = 64-8= 54
Let the no. of days ammunition will last after soldiers left be y.
Total ammunition=64×16×x
So,
Understand it carefully.....
64×2×x + 56 × y × x = 64×16×x
=>x(64×2 + 56 × y) = x(64×16)
=>(64×2 + 56 × y)=(64×16)
=> 128 + 56y = 1024
=> 56y=1024 - 128
=> y = 896/56
=>y = 16
It means that ammunition will last (y+2)days from starting = 16 + 2 = 18 days....
