There are only a few of such moments in my short 30 years -- the day I watched my 6-month old brother die, the day I found God, the day I visited the slave castles in Ghana, West Africa, but I'll highlight one in particular:  Though I run the risk of sounding incredibly trite, my life was forever and quite radically changed by the birth of our son.

I could pen an entire essay on how becoming a parent changes your life, but I'll keep it simple. Bringing a child reminds you that life is less about you, and more about legacy. It's not that I never knew this before, but there is nothing like a cooing, snuggling, little bundle of wonderfulness to kick your life into overdrive and major productivity (read: worth).

My day to day activity -- how I carry myself, how I speak, the risks I take, the big plans I make, how I relate to my husband, the businesses I start, the investments I make, and the examples I set are all directly related to the torch I intend to pass along to my son (and future children and children's children).

To say the grass is greener, the air is fresher, and the waking up is better is an understatement.  In short, my already awesome life was made infinitely more fun, more vibrant, and challenging by the birth of my son.  Sometimes it's good to have more skin in the game.
