if the inaccuracies are small then variations will be found in the offspring.

But if the variations so formed are drastic that the new DNA copy cannot work with the cellular apparatus it inherits then the new born will simply die.

HOPE IT HELPS

Incorrect DNA copying or DNA replication during cell division can severly affect the reproduction process.

CENTRAL  DOGMA :-

DNA - DNA = replication

DNA - RNA = transcription

RNA - Protein = translation

Hence DNA is responsible for every activity from dna copying to protein formation.

Any change in the base pair or single nucleotide of DNA during replication (due to mutation or other factors) can have detrimental effect on the offspring or zygote.

Frame shift mutation can occur . eg: sickle cell anemia disease

If protein failed to fold due to mutation then several neurodegenrative disease can occur. for eg: parkinson's disease , hutington's disease (genetic).

If dna deletes, duplicates, invert then several genetic disorder can occur in the new born . eg : Turnur's syndrome occur due to trisomy of 21st number of human chromosome.
