increased nitrogen oxides are formed when combustion

nitrogen and oxygen doesnot react with each other at normal temperature.but during the combustion of fuels the temperature rises upto 3000 degree celcius and at this temperature they both react to form nitrogen dioxide and even nitrous oxide in some cases.
