• People prepare snacks for the pooja time every evening for all the ten days.
• This is also celebrated as a festival of assassination of Ravan.
• Deepavali, which is also known as Diwali, is a festival of lights.
• People burst crackers, light lamps and celebrate this festival.
• The row of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside of their homes to represent the internal light that guards against spiritual darkness gave rise to the festival's name.
• People decorate their houses with lighting lamps around the house.
