A total of fifty six members signed the Declaration of Independence for the United States in 1776. Among them, the eldest signer was 70 year old Benjamin Franklin while the youngest person was Edward Rutledge, aged 26 years.

The list of signers also included two people who later became presidents of the nation. They were John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
