Respected; Principal, teachers, staff members and all my dear friends. I welcome you all from the bottom of my heart on this day of national reverence, when we celebrate the country’s 73rd Independence Day, today.I feel immensely honoured to having been given an opportunity to address you all on such a significant occasion and express my own views.As we all know that India gained independence on August 15, 1947. It was on this day that the British departed from Indian soil, transferring the legislative powers to the Indian Constituent Assembly. In other words, India was now to be ruled by its own people and not by foreign invaders.It was the most joyous moment in the history of India as it came following nearly two centuries of struggle and revolutions against British sovereignty. The day reminds us of the valour and sacrifices of our fellow countrymen, who were the torchbearers of the freedom struggle.Let us celebrate this Independence Day to commemorate the indomitable spirit of our freedom fighters and political patrons of that time. It is because of them that we enjoy the fruits of freedom today.

स्वतंत्रता दिवस (India Independence Day) देश के हर व्यक्ति के लिए बेहद महत्व रखता है. इस दिन देश के प्रधानमंत्री दिल्ली के लाल किले पर राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराते हैं.मैं आप सभी को स्वतंत्रता दिवस की शुभकामनाएं देता हूं/देती हूं. मुझे 73वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर बोलने का मौका मिला है इसमें मैं सम्मानित महसूस कर रहा हूं. आज से ठीक 73 वर्ष पूर्व, हमे आजादी मिली थी. देश की आजादी के संघर्ष की गाथा बहुत बड़ी है और इसका वर्णन कुछ मिनटों में नहीं किया जा सकता है. हर भारतीय के लिए 15 अगस्त का दिन बेहद खास होता है. स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों ने देश की आजादी के लिए जो योगदान दिया वो कभी भूलाया नहीं जा सकता. स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के प्रयासों के कारण ही आज हम आजाद हैं. स्वतंत्रता दिवस न केवल ब्रिटिश राज से भारत की आजादी को दर्शाता है, बल्कि यह इस देश की शक्ति को भी दिखाता है.
हमारे वीर योद्धाओं ने कई लड़ाइयां लड़ी और उसके बाद जाकर 15 अगस्त 1947 को हमें आजादी मिली. तब से लेकर आज तक, हम हर वर्ष 15 अगस्त को स्वतंत्रता दिवस के रूप में मनाते हैं. आज हमारा देश तेजी से विकास कर रहा है. देश तेजी से तकनीक, शिक्षा, खेल, वित्त, और कई दूसरे क्षेत्रों में विकास कर रहा है जोकि बिना आजादी के संभव नहीं था. परमाणु ऊर्जा में समृद्ध देशों में एक भारत है. ओलंपिक, कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स, एशियन गेम्स जैसे खेलों में भारत सक्रिय रुप से भागीदार है. आज भारत का गौरव विश्व में और भी ऊंचा हो गया है. भारत में उद्योग बढ़ रहा है और दुनिया भर की कंपनी यहां निवेश कर रही हैं. शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में भी देश ने नई उचाइयों को छुआ हैं.
