️⃣ India has the second largest population in the world and accounts for 2.4% of the total geographical area of the World. If we were to analyse its impact, we would certainly explain the population density of the country, which is large corresponding to its landmass.

️⃣ High population in such a case, puts a strain on resources, leading exploitation of resources, indiscriminate of resources by a particular group or region within the country creating disparities.

️⃣ It also puts a pressure on the system to create and provide for amenities like housing, health, education, sanitation and other public services.

️⃣ It leads to deforestation , creating space to accommodate increasing population, leading to environmental crisis.

️⃣ It is likely to have social consequences in terms of conflict in the society, rising crime rate because of wide disparities that are likely to crop up amongst certain groups, between the haves and haves not.
