India can't achieve the goal of self sufficiency in food unless the area under irrigation is increased. Why? Give reason in support of your answer

yes, it is true that India couldn't achieve the goal of self sufficiency in food grains because India is the largest populated country....here is a great demand in comparison to growth of food.....and here is also lack of modern technologies... due to this India can't achieve the great food sufficiency
