Answer:

(a)During the winter season, cool, dry winds blow from north to south. The sun rays do not fall directly in this region, so the temperature remains quite low in the winter season in northern India.

(b)The air moves from the high pressure system over south Indian Ocean to the low pressure area over That desert. While these winds move over the Indian Ocean, they pick up large amount of moisture. This precipitates as rainfall over India and adjoining countries.

(c) Monsoon rains replenish reservoirs and groundwater, allowing better irrigation and more hydropower output. Higher rainfall can trim demand for subsidised diesel, which is used to pump wells for irrigation.
