In spite of the great diversity and variation in Indian climate and topography due to various reasons, the most important factor in the Indian sub-continent is the fact of monsoons as India experiences tropical monsoon climate.
Monsoon is the word used to describe the alternating winds.
The winds reverse their direction seasonally and on the basis of monsoons, there are 4 seasons – hot dry season, rainy season, season of the retreating south west monsoon, season of the north east monsoon.
