India has a long coastline which is advantageous.
i. Climate - continent makes the climate extreme.
ii. Transport and trade - Most of the trades and transport are by sea.
iii. Resources - Having a huge coastline also helps in obtaining resources like petroleum, thorium etc.
iv. Livelihood : Pearls, salt production etc. provide economic opportunities too.
