1) The location of India at the head of Indian Ocean is considered as significant as it is centrally located between west and east Asia. It is also an important transit point for sea routes connecting the two regions and Europe with East Asia. Its strategic location enables India to project naval power across the arc of the Indian Ocean and come to the aid of littoral states.
