ndia is the seventh largest country in the world in terms of area.It has unique and distinct geographical features like mountains,plateaus,coasts,desert and islands.Physiography plays an important role in Socio-economic aspects of any country,Therefore it becomes all the more important to study Indian physiography.

India can be categorise in five different geographic regions-

Mountainous region- India comprises the Himalayas in the North and Northeastern region, which separates the country from the Tibetan plateau. Pir panjal, Zanskar, Karakoram and Ladakh are some of its prominent ranges.
