Answer:

What is secularism?

Secularism in India means equal treatment of all religions by the state. In other words, it means separation of religion from the state. As, we know India is a religion free country. Secularism is important for a country to function democratically. The aim of secularism is to prevent discrimination on the grounds of religious belief.

India is a secular country as India treat all religions equally without giving concern to one religion. People in India have independence to follow any religion and there is no official religion of the country. Moreover the Majority do not control the Minority.

Hence, India has rightly earned the name Secular Country.
