India is a secular country then why there are so many fights on the basis of religion. Here we are allowed to follow any religion! Take example of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Can't the government take strict actions against these riots?

Ayodhya Ram Mandir is not a riot but a demand for justice against wrong done in past.
there were no casualties in that incident
Secondly for riots on religious issues govt is afraid in punishing those belonging to the criminals as they may be voted out of power by other members of that community
sometimes govt and opposition are involved behind the stage in these riots
