1) There is no official religion. Unlike the special status for Islam in Pakistan, Buddhism in Sri-Lanka and Christianity in England, there is no special status in our country given to any specific religion.

2) The Constitution provides to all individuals and communities to practice, profess and propagate any religion or not to follow any.

3) Discrimination of the basis of religious grounds is banned in our country.

4) At the same time, the Constitution allows the state government to intervene in matters of religion to promote and maintain equality between two religious communities. ex. it bans untouchability.
