-Citizens of India are free to choose those who govern them and it is the will of these citizens that is ultimate in choosing of leaders. This makes India both a Democratic and Sovereign nation.
-India is a sovereign state and a republic as the nation is independently governed and the democratically leaders elected rule on behalf of the citizens.
-The government of India is not affiliated to any religion and does not favor any one particular religion. This makes India a secular nation.
-India is a socialist nation as it practices socialism. The nation of India and its resources are owned and managed by the Indian people.
