Colonialism is the policy of annexing independent countries and setting up colonies there.. like India was a colony of the British.

India is a part of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM). Jawaharlal Nehru played a great role there. He opposed colonialism as he said that independence and freedom was the first need of any country. Thus, being a part of the NAM, India opposes colonialism.

it was natural for India which gained it's independence from an imperialism country to oppose such moves of other such moves of otherncountry
