As India is a peninsular country it is certain that it is prone to floods. Due to heavy rains at few places the rivers overflow and give way to destructive floods. There are some areas where it does not rain for months due to climatic variations which give rise to droughts. The main reason of droughts can be uneven rains in some areas.
