The Preamble says – “We, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST, SECULAR, DEMOCRATIC, REPUBLIC…” ... India is neither a dependency (colony) nor a dominion of any other nation. 2. It is free independent state and can conduct its internal and external affairs freely.
