India lost its 13th President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday. Mukherjee was a renowned politician, efficient administrator and eloquent speaker. In his five-decade-old political career, Mukherjee had held various important portfolios including defence, finance, foreign affairs, revenue, shipping, transport, communications, economic affairs, commerce and industry.
There is no humiliation more abusive than hunger.
No problems are ever resolved by violence. It only aggravates the pain and the hurt on every side

Pranab Kumar Mukherjee Hindustani pronunciation: [] (listen)(11 December 1935 – 31 August 2020) was an Indian politician who served as the 13th President of India from 2012 until 2017. In a political career spanning five decades, Mukherjee was a senior leader in the Indian National Congress and occupied several ministerial portfolios in the Government of India. Prior to his election as President, Mukherjee was Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012. He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna in 2019 by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
