India and UK have one common system of driving on the lanes. “Keep left”. It means that while on the road, vehicles follow left hand side and in such a case, when the driver is on the right hand side of the vehicle, he can visualise the movement of vehicles on the opposite side. In countries like United States, “Keep Right” method of lane driving is adopted and therefore, the drivers occupy their positions on the left hand side of the vehicle. A vehicle with left hand driving wheel can also be used in India however, the driver may not be comfortable in locating in the vehicles from the opposite direction and also the vehicles which are willing to overtake his vehicle

In ALL other countries statement is wrong. Some countries have left hand drive and some have right hand drive. Why it is so has reasons. When the British rule ended in America, they were so very independent minded, they chose to reverse all laws laid down by the British. They built their cars with steering on the left and drove on the right side of the road. On countries where the British influence dominated, the right hand hand drive was adopted. So they kept their vehicles to the left of the road. The Americans being Americans, even designed their electrical switches to operate differently. You press upwards to switch on and down to switch off.. Hence friend, there is realty nothing much to it. It is easy to adapt to American driving because the drivers there are by and large highly disciplined and law enforcement works there unlike in our country.
