it is because India is rich in many minerals like iron ore ,coal manganese etc.
it enjoys good amount of rainfall throughout year and has a cast no. of sea beaches and water transport. it has himalyas in north which don't allow Siberian winds to enter India otherwise the whole country will freeze.
