Mountain Range -The world's highest mountain range, the Himalayas, spans five countries including India.
The Mountain range has some features prominently in Hindu mythology and attracts holy sages and Tibetan monks alike.
The Himalayas also influence the climate in India by preventing cold winds from blowing south.
However, there are a number of other major mountain ranges that play an important role in India's environment and culture too
Rivers- There are 8 major river systems in India, with quite 400 rivers in total.

Some rivers flow into the Bay of Bengal: Brahmaputra, Yamuna, Ganga (with its main tributaries Ramganga, [Gangan], Kali or Sharda, Gomti, Yamuna, Chambal, Betwa, Ken, Tons, Ghaghara, Gandaki, Burhi Gandak, Koshi, Mahananda, Tamsa, Son, Bagmati), Meghna, Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna (and their main tributaries), Kaveri
Some rivers flowing into the Arabian Sea: Narmada, Tapi, Sindhu, Sabarmati, Purna
Mountain Peaks- India has some of the highest mountain ranges and mountain roads in the world.
India has seven major mountain ranges that have peaks of over 1000 meters.
The Himalayan mountain system is the world's highest peaks, the Eight-thousanders, and an extra 50 peaks over 7,000 meters (23,000 ft).

From 26th January 2020, India has 8 union territories. The Union Territories of Daman and Diu, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli merged into one union territory, through a Bill gone by the Parliament within the winter session.
And, the central government had announced the abrogation of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and its division into two Union Territories i.e. UTs of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh on 5th August 2020.
