India has always been a land of diversity. But during the British rule India united to form a frontier against the British rule. The country was unified due to the hard work of freedom fighters such as Gandhiji, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, etc. The whole country wanted freedom and started working as a whole towards independence. India had many princely states and was broken into many parts. Sardar Vallabhai Patel unified the whole nation after independence and encouraged all the princely states to join the newly independent India. Later India was divided into states in the basis of language. But still we are unified as a country.
