An Act to provide for acquisition and determination of Indian citizenship. Along with the Constitution of India, the Citizenship Act, 1955, is the exhaustive law relating to citizenship in India. The conferment of a person, as a citizen of India, is governed by Articles 5 to 11 (Part II) of the Constitution of India.
