This is a story of a boy named Kabir who when is asked what he wants to become when he grows up says that he would like to become like the great men who sacrificed their lives during the terrorist attack of 26/11.He says that he would like to become like Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who laid down his life fighting the terrorist in Mumbai in Nov 2008.He also says that he would like to become like Vishnu Dattaram Zende who was a railway announcer for 10 years and saved the life of many people at CST without caring for his own life.He also says that he would like to become like Karambir Singh Kang the G.M of Taj Hotel ,Hemant Karkare,Mohammad Taufeeq Sheikh and Sandra Samuel.All his classmates got tears in their eyes hearing all this. His teacher Mrs.Buruah was also crying .He was appreciated by everyone.........hope i helped u:)

This entire story revolves around the lives of those bravehearts, who sacrificed their lives and contributed in their own way, when Mumbai was faced with terrorist attacks.The story 'indian heroes' presents an example of a story within a story. The characters in the frame (outer) story include the teacher and the students. It tells us what happened in the classroom.
There is another story of the terrorist attack on several locations in mumbai. This story is known as the core(core) story. The frame story has Kabeer and Mrs.baruah as the main characters.
the unsung heroes mentioned by Kabeer includes Major Sandeep Unikrishnan(NSG commando), Vishnu Dattaram, Karambir singh Kang ( Hotle manager of taj hotle), Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte, Vijay salaskar(All three are policemen), Mohammed Taufeeq Sheik, sandra Samuel and caretakers of the cementeries.
